Hi there,
I recently downloaded a DVD that uses DTS audio. From my basic understanding, I won't be able to hear any audio because I don't use a digital reciever (or something like that)...my home setup is just a DVD player and a TV - nothing fancy...
My question is this...is there a way to convert the DTS audio into a something that an analog connection can read?
Thanks

Not really. If your DVD player supports DTS decoding u will hear audio.
On the other hand, if it doesn´t, u need to convert to either Dolby Digital (AC3) or MP2 (MPEG1-Layer 2).
To convert to AC3 u can use several methods, being some of them thru BeSweet/BeLight, Aften, and others.
To convert to MP2, u can use BeSweet/BeLight.

I see.
I'm not sure if my DVD player supports DTS or not so I guess I'll just have to try it to find out.
However...if it doesn't support it, what program would you suggest for converting to AC3? The files contain 4 .VOB files that make up the movie (audio is included in the .VOB file leaving no 'AUDIO_TS' folder.)
Is there a way to transcode the .VOB file?

Hi,
Not trying to play devil`s advocate here, but what DVD is it,and where exactly did you get it.
Do you feel a rule 6 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) violation applies to you?
Thanks

I recently downloaded a DVD... Please read and follow forum rules, specifically, rule 6: no discussion of improperly obtained materials. Thank you.
