I was checking out Windows Media Encoder and it seems simple to use but I tried using it and I am confused. What I am trying to do is figure a way to convert my DVDs (just hte main movie file/VOB) to VC-1 and if possible to preserve the AC3 audio with it. I did read somewhere that I would need to convert the AC3 and split it into 6 wav files and besweet can do that but I also couldn't figure out how to use besweet.
I also would like to compress MS-DVR files with Windows Media Encoder and I would assume VC-1 could compress them smaller then MPEG2.
I am able to convert files over to MPEG2 with other encoders and with DVDs an meeping the raw AC3.
So what I am asking is how the heck do I do it? Or is there a guide? I am just not finding what I am looking for.
Thanks!
