Does filtering with LimitedSharpenFaster make the video any less fluid? I usually use Smode=4,strength=150 as my params.
If so, should I follow up sharpening in a script with one of these motion compensation filters? I don't know much about them and how they work.

No.
If you deinterlaced video footage to half the field-rate it will of course look less fluid. Try retaining the interlacing or use a full-rate deinterlacer (*Bob).

Yes. ;)
It may happen that after applying LS to a source, it appears as being less fluid.
Reason: in some places, sharpening can partly remove the motion blur that smoothes motion.
Solution: Soothe (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=708217#post708217) the sharpening.

Hehe I though about motion blur being sharpened... but THAT much?! :eek:
