Hi, there.
I'm just trying to re-encode my movie collection into x264 Standard, but I need to rezise into a specific MB quantity.
I've been looking for a " x264 Bitrate Calculator " for a while, but not lucky.

I've also been trying to "calculate myself" putting the bitrate in the following screen, but I'm getting worse.

http://www.divxhouse.com/manuales/x264/principal.gif

I have this codec:
x264 - H.264 / MPG-4 AVC Codec
Core 47 SNV-534
It's home page is http://videolan.org/x264.html

Any idea or software to try?
Thanks!

If you are going for a standard, I would suggest that you dump x264 VfW and use the cli encoder instead. Check out MeGUI.

I have installed XviD v1.1 and using it's bitrate calc without actually encoding anything with xvid.

ztaticx check http://x264.nl for both x264.exe (in the installer) and megui.

In megui: Tools > Bitrate Calculator

x264 is the same as DivX & XviD bitrate-wise, so you can use the usual bitrate calculators you always used :)

yes... and less overhead means more bits for audio and video (read: more quality)
