Hi pals...
ok, here's the deal... I bought this brand new burner and it has this firmware (which I don't know if it's still the latest). I ma no computer geek, but I have seen how these are set and so I did it myself (with my previous one -Pioneer DVR-109 1.58 - a technician set it up) this is I didn't want to pay for something whic is not that difficult.
Anyway, At first I made a big mistake and didn''t set the jumper to slave (since the other one is set to master) so when I started the PC, it got forzen at the beginning and the new burner never appeared (ovbiously) because there were TWO recognised as masters. For several days I wondered what the problem was until I found out about jumpers and stuff and last night I set it to slave and it WAS RECOGNISED by the PC, but today I tried to make it work and there seems to be a problem. 109 recognises blank discs while this one says the format of the disc is not compatible with the burner (?). Then I inserted a DVD DL I burnt with the 109 on the 111D and it doesn't read it. What's more, it freezes PowerDVD and it doesn't admit any function. i have to extract the disc for the program to be shut down (because not even the task manager closes it). While PowerDVD freezes, the burner actually "tries" to read the disc as the green light flashes... but nothing comes up. 109 plays it perfectly (it was the one that created the burnt DVD)
Another anomaly is that whenever I insert discs on it, it doesn't plat them automatically. It just does that weird "reading (shown by the green light lit for a while and then it just stops. no popped up player comes.
I have tried burning DVD+R DL (no luck) DVD+R (no luck) And an original DVD and no luck either. beats me
What do you think it could be?
Any help would be appreciated
