View Full Version : Can someone help me with an RCE (region code enhanced) dvd?

I followed the steps in "Making perfect DVDs - Here's the Method !" but my problem is the movie I am working with is protected with RCE and when I attempt to play the files in PowerDVD XP it only brings up the region map with the message "This disc is intended for play on non-modified Region 1 players....". I used CladDVD 2.0 to rip it and selected the option to remove region encoding. I tried opening the main ifo for Charlies Angles (it's also suppose to be RCE) and saw that "VMG Category, Regional Code mask" was set to 0 on Charlies Angles but was set to 64 on the disc I'd ripped so I tried changing the value to 0 and still no luck.

Or if anyone has "America's Sweethearts" could you hook me up with the original unmodified IFOs for this? I'd preffer knowing how to get around RCE just for future refference but I'll take any help I can get.

Thanks in advanced.

Download the new IfoEdit v0.75 from following site:
http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/index.html

Open every IFO file, and press the button 'Region free'.
After saving the IFO files, your problem should be gone!

If not, please send me your IFO files, and I'll have a look at it.

Thanks Derrow, it looks like I only needed to open the main IFO file. I'll burn it to an RW and let you know how it works.
