Hi. I haev a nice encode of a movie I mate made for me but I am having trouble playing it on my Xbox Media Center. It seams to play fine on my computer. Before you swithc off, I have never had any problems before with playing MKV on the Xbox.

When I load the MKV in VdubMod I get errors, and the picture dose not display. nor can I use direct stream copy to resave it as a MKV. I can not do full processing mode as it will not decomress properly (eg VdubMod has no images in the in/out window) The file dose play fine on th system though media player classic though.

The error VDubMOD gives me is:

Anyway when I run MKVextract GUI I can extarct the vidio and the audio I get a AC3 file and a "Track1.h264" file. Wicth can not be loaded in vdub.

I ran MVKveriffy ot try and find the problem and got this

(mkv parser) note:
File type: Matroska v1

(mkv parser) note:
Seekhead contains link to another Seekhead

Can anyone help? I am not sure why Ican not load the video file into VDUBMOD.. The video decodes in media player classic just not Vdub.... why would that be? Dose anyone haev a direct link to a codec install for just "H264"?

6) No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.

What has this got to do with my question? I do not understand.

I you are tinking that I am using a pirate films or somthing then you are dead wrong. As I said a mate of mine has started backing up his OWN dvd's with MKV, or wants to. He has made a example of how the file is MENT to work but can NOT GET IT TO WORK so sent it to me to have a look at. I in turn could not figure out the problem so asked on the fourm.

Isn't that the point of this fourm to help with DVD backups? How did I violate the rulesof the fourm?

You personally do not own the DVD legally (you admitted that your friend gave it to you), so you cannot discuss it here.

If your friend wishes to post about it, he may do so.

Um... ok. As we are both flatmates we have the same IP and everything. We have been using the same usr for years... I shall ask him to sign up. He will do so in a sec. Then we will haev to wait 5 days before he can post :(

Do you want him to use a completly new thread or post in this one?
