how good is dr.divx?

For divx encoding I personally use virtualdubmod. I also generally encode with xvid instead of divx.

sarmin: Dr. DivX used to suck, but is getting better. If you have complaints / problems specific to Dr. DivX, you could go to the Dr. DivX forum and seek help directly from the developers over there.

What you will want to use is a function of your expertice. If you want something quick and good I would recommend avi.net or autogk or even the latest version of the Doctor. If you have a degree in video you might want to try VirtualDub or or VirtualDubMod. If you something that has power but is also "mostly" beginner friendly try staxrip.

BTW: The Doctor is now in pretty good shape, I use it for many of my movies and I am very happy with it. 2 months ago it sux but now OK.

how good is the divx converter and how does it convert? does it convert files in 2 passes or just 1 pass. vdub doesn't work godd on my computer. it's very slow.
