Say I have a 60 minute video and I simply want to pull video from the time slot 1:30-3:30 out of it and save it.

Any help for a n00b?

I have a realplayer video (ram) and a google video. I'd like to take snips out of both of these videos.

If I remember correctly, "Real Producer" is the program used to create .RAM videos - and would also be used to edit them. If you used a different program to create the .RAM file that you now want to edit, you can probably use it to edit the .RAM file as well.

Perhaps another member can provide insight regarding Google videos...

Google Video Files (.gvi) are Audio Video Interleave (.avi) files with an extra list with the FOURCC "goog" immediately following the header. The video is encoded in DivX4 alongside an MP3 audio stream. DivX video players and various portable video players can render Google Video Files without format conversion after changing the extension from .gvi to .avi. Among other software, VirtualDub is able to read .gvi files and allows conversion into different formats.
