A DVD question

I have a DVD player
I have a burner
I have the movies I want on DVD, and they are AVI format


so I guess my question is how or what programs are needed to make them a VCD, and once I have a VCD all I do is burn it and it whould work on a DVD player?

Learn about ripping a dvd and putting it on svcd format.

When you get good, learn about TSCV to make cool menus.

Hmm... The question sounds like he's got movies in AVI format, and got a DVD burner. And wants to burn a DVD-R that he could use. Well, if the player plays DVDRs then you might need an DVD authoring program. This will format the directories and stuff right?

Sorry, but I don't know of any apps... just trying to understand your question better.

Excactly right. and yes my DVD player plays DVDr's
