Can removing IFO PUOS make a DVD player skip the intros which appear before the actual movie without any sort of user intervention [pressing a the foward button or something]?.
I'm aware of the fact that PUOS, as the name suggests, do apply to users, but I noticed this intro is being skipped "automatically" in one of my DVD backups. I most note, however, that I have never experienced a single problem when removing IFO PUOS with DVD Decrypter.
The reason I'm asking this is because my younger niece used the original DVD to mop the floor and it's really a pain to get a player to read it beyond the FBI warning, therefore I can't properly test it and find out the answer myself.
Thanks in advance.
No, the PUOs are only used to prohibit some actions, never to force them. The intros are skipped for another reason.

Hi!I noticed this intro is being skipped "automatically" in one of my DVD backups. Is this happening when you INITIALLY start the DVD, or only when you go back to the menu after playing some of the DVD?
I ask because the particular DVD may have differing instructions for the ROOT menu than for the TITLE menu...

This happens initially when the DVD starts playing. The FBI warnings will appear but then it kicks directly into the menu, completely skipping the intro with the movie promos from Fox.

1) Do you know whether the files containing the "movie promos from Fox" are actually present on your backup copy?
2) What software and procedures did you use to create the copy?
3) What is the Title and Region number of the DVD?

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be saying they are being skipped ;) . If you need snapshots, just tell me.
2) What software and procedures did you use to create the copy?
For decrypting, DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 in File Mode with all the settings set to the program's defaults excepting for "Remove IFO PUOs" which I manually checked. For burning, Nero 6?, I wouldn't know for sure the exact version since it's been abour a year since I created the backup.
3) What is the Title and Region number of the DVD?
Big Trouble In Little China SE - Region 1, although the protection was removed for the backup.

I own the 2 disc Region 1 version of this DVD - and my original exhibits the same behavior.
Title 2, the highspeed Fox promo, does not appear when starting the DVD on a standalone player - nor is it even accessible on a standalone player...

Thank you very much, just thought I had done something wrong. Strange thing anyways.

That was sometime ago when she was still 3. Either way, it was all my fault for having left the case open and laying on the sofa, plus I believe in communication, not punishment ;)
