I purchased a 4 cd set. I am in the process of converting it to mp3 and sending it to my portable player. I am too lazy to type in all the track info so I thought I would scan it omn my Brother MFC 210. then convert to text and paste the track info in. I scanned it as text but when I go to drag the file into Word, WordPerfect or Quattropro I get a message that the dpi is too low and must be raised. I put it all the way up to 2400 X 2400 and I still get that message. Brother's tech support page will not load.Any ideas?

What OCR engine does it come with? Finereader, omnipage, paperport?

DPI is not the same as resolution. 2400 X 2400 is a high resolution, but that does not mean it has a high dpi.
If your dpi is set for 72, try raising it to 300. Somewhere in the software options you should be able to find a dpi setting.
Edit: It might be easier to cut and paste the track titles from CDDB (GraceNote) instead of scanning it. Most software will get this infomation automatically. (If your CD set is in the database.)

Actually I think 2400 is the dpi, since it's a common setting, scanners just measure it as h x v dpi. But I'm mystified as to why it would say that, you might have to use the paperport interface instead of through other apps. Try looking on scansoft's support page instead of brother's.
(OEM OCR software is mostly junk anyway.)
