brightness in encoded movies

hi

i use megui to encode my dvds to xvid vids.

i've observed that there is reduction in brightness and colour saturation in my xvid encoded video.

is there an option which i'm forgetting to use or is it normal?

Hi!

1) You might want to try several different players

2) You might want to check the settings in the player you are presently using (or codecs/filters being used by the player)

ColorMatrix(mode="rec.709->rec.601") might help you. You need the ColorMatrix plugin for this.

i know i can change the brightness and saturation in Win media player.
