i think there is some problem with this option, if i choose encode with DIRECT MODE "SPATIAL" some video errors happens :/ if i choose TEMPORAL there is no error...

i uploaded 2 clips (2mb) one is using spatial and other temporal, you can see for yourself, i encoded 2 times each file, and the error happen in the same place, so i think is a codec problem or maybe a bad configuration? o_o

here is my conf

and my pc
ATHLON XP 2.8GHZ, 1GBram, GEFORCE FX 5600

ps: i'm using x264.nl build, not Sharktooth one, maybe can be this too?

Unless you must use VFW/VirtualDub[Mod], I suggest you use the CLI version of x264 with the "-direct auto" setting. ;)
Then you will have a better use of both temporal and spatial B-frame direct mode in the same MPEG-4 AVC video file.

If you prefer to have a GUI, MeGUI is a good choice.

nothing wrong with your config ...

checking the samples right now

i don't know what can be, i just tried 2passes, and the same error happens but random, i formated my pc (maybe a codec conflict) but this continue to happen only with x264 codec, those errors started when i installed this new version (rev532/532A ) in both sharktooth and x264.nl builds... -_- it doesn't make difference if use x264 cli or vfw... (megui or virtualdub)

MY INSTALLED CODECS
DIVX6
XVID
WMV9VCM
FFDSHOW (MAY06/2006)

and x264

i just don't know what to do anymore :( even the DEFAULT configuration those errors happens

Can you make the unencoded source somehow available ? And a commandline that produces the bug with x264.exe ?

i don't think is the raw, i already tried other ones, same error...

i'm using the VFW one, not CLI, but i already tried and gave me the same error :/

i think i will uninstall NERO OEM to see if change something

what decoder do you use? and is your CPU overclocked?

lavc and coreavc both show decode errors in the sample he posted, except that coreavc's error resilience is slightly less ugly. So my wager's on overclocked/unstable system. But please, Hiei, if you've tried the cli can you copy the command line for us? (If you used megui it's in the logs and the config window.)

i don't think is the raw, i already tried other ones, same error...It's for debugging purposes
i'm using the VFW one, not CLI, but i already tried and gave me the same errorNo devs will want to debug the vfw version, so you'd better give a CLI commandline that reproduces the issue if you want it fixed
i think i will uninstall NERO OEM to see if change somethingIt won't. The error lies either with your system ( overcloking ) or with x264 ( bug ). Does it happen with an older build ( rev 526 for example ? )

Unless HieiYYH means 2800xp (the model number/pr rating), if it's really running at 2.8GHz, then it is overclocked (AFAIK there is no xp series CPU that runs as fast as 2.8GHz).

Try doing the encode a few times, see if the error always happens in the same place, or if it's somewhat random. Also if you are overclocked, bring it back down to stock speed and try encoding it.

If you still have problems, I would do as suggested and see if you can replicate the problem using the x264 command line.

By the way, what anime is that? Those were some crazy proportions :p

ffdshow (new one), and yes it is overclocked, but i don't think that's the problem because it was always like that and there are no errors (my atlhon is working very well i play games normally, encode xvid dvix etc... without errors and x264 too until some weeks ago), i think maybe is because i ran the Ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) and deleted some things and fixed some problems in register (or maybe not o_o) ... i will try format my pc one more time and this time i will not run this program

ps: THIS problem is only with X264, the other codecs works normal for me :~~

by the way, someone knows a program to see if my processor has some problems?

downclock and try again

also teste to se if cpu is dammage by using stressprime and hotcpu

HieiYYH : still no way for you to make accessible a source reproducing the bug ? is the bug still occuring at the same place ? Can you reproduce it by shortening the sequence ( with a trim for example ? ) Do you have a commandline that creates the bug with x264cli ?

i downloaded the stressprime and hotcpu, here are the log files

stressprime
Torture Test ran 41 minutes 34 seconds - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
Execution halted.
Mode: BLEND - STRESS CPU AND RAM
Priority: 10

hotcpu (trying right now, no errors yet)

anyway, looks like is more a software problem than hardware, since my pc is new and i always used overclocked, and until some weeks ago i was encoding with x264 without any problem, so that's why i'm saying is not my pc =p like i said before, i think is because the CCleaner

the command line i used was the DEFAULT one, in CLI (MEGUI) AND VFW (VDUB) ones, if i encode in 1pass, those errors happen in the same place, if in 2pass, they are totally random

Remove the overclocking and try encoding again.

-_- i already said, my cpu is allright (i confirmed that when i formated my pc and encoded normally, when i used the ccleaner those errors started happening again), anyway, i'll change my pc tomorrow, a athlon64 4200+ 2gbram geforce gtx 7800 512mb and i'll see what happen... there is a especific vfw/cli codec for this type of cpu? if are, can someone send me the link
