View Full Version : Why is ifoedit giving me this internal error error?

It says "INTERNAL ERROR: Additional data required but no free space in input buffer" and then the vobs come out but with 1/3 the audio missing. I listened to the source AC3 and it has no such problem. I tried older versions of ifoedit and it tells me the same crap.

ifoedit usually doesn't do this, but it does only with this m2v/ac3 combo.. and there's nothing wrong with either file.

Are there any other programs I can use to make the vobs/ifos for a DVD out of these m2v/ac3 files? I am looking for a simple free program that allows me to give a negative audio delay(-379 ms in this case).

Okay I tried tmpgenc DVD author pro and it doesn't even have a setting for audio delay. And they expect people to pay for this?

I fixed it using ac3fix on the bad files.

I noticed I couldn't transcode the AC3s to MP3s in certain cases since the filesizes were out of whack on the MP3s, they were shortened for no good reason. It turns out these ac3s were bad too, they got through mpeg2repair's repair and I didn't know they were bad. Since I kept the HDTV stream while throwing out the DVD compliant MPEG2 video I encoded, that means I have lots of reencoding to do. :(

Use Muxman!

Okay I got muxman - it is trash. I am using the basic version and I can't input a delay lower than -300ms, the delay on all of my files are at least -750ms for the ones that have delay. Why would I pay for the full version if the trial is useless?

In spite of ac3 fix, which worked for some of the files, some of the others still give this error when I use ifoedit. I tried encoding those files to mp3, and it gave me the same issue that it did with the other ones before repair, where the files were way too short. It seems ac3fix can only fix some of them.

This makes no sense. The HDTV transport stream with that AC3 file in it plays perfectly, but it muxes ridiculously out of sync due to a supposedly bad AC3 file when I try to make a DVD out of it. :(

LOL - it is not muxman that is trash - it is perfectly compliant.

It is your files that are trash. That delay is way outa spec.

Plus, there's no need to be impolite.

I wasn't trying to be impolite to you, rather, to muxman. :)

I can't find these files anyplace else, so these files are all I have to work with. I knew they were out of spec when I needed ac3fix to fix them in the first place. Since this stuff is not available anyplace else, these files are all I have to work with. :(

I wish networks released HDTV transport streams of their TV series online, it would make things so much easier. I wouldn't mind paying $50/season if it meant I got proper files.

And I am telling you that being "impolite to muxman" is showing a distinct lack of understanding on your part.

Again, Muxman is perfect compliant - your files are not. So, let's rewrite your post (#5) this way:

Okay I got these files - they are trash. I am using the basic version of Muxman and because it is compliant with the DVD Spec, I can't input a delay lower than -300ms, the delay on all of my files are at least -750ms for the ones that have delay. Even if I pay for the full version of Muxman, it would be useless because of my trashy files.
