Hi,

I have a file which has xvid video codec and 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 audio codec.

Since my player has trouble playing this, how can I change it into something else?

Is this yet another post regarding your illegally obtained, copyrighted material (i. e. downloaded movie)?

Well, first of all, check if there is a newer firmware for your player.
If this doesn't help, I guess, you don't have a choice but to re-encode to DivX Home Theatre.
Aim for the highest possible quality (like using 1-pass quality based w/ quantizer 2), to minimize quality loss.
You may want to cut a small part of the video, convert it and burn it on DVD-RW to test.

@BananJoeMy player has problems with the video?(I'm presuming you have both an XviD and a DivX codec installed on your system)

Use VirtualDub to convert it to a DivX-compressed .AVI...

Okay.

How do I go about changing it to DivX?

How do I go about changing it to DivX?Surely, if you know enough to have created an XviD-compressed .AVI, you should know (or be able to figure out) how to use VirtualDub to convert it to a DivX-compressed .AVI.

If not, simply perform a search of these forums...
