Cut a small piece of the unprocessed source MPEG file (big enough to still show the problem) and post a link to it so that I can download it and analyse it. If you want to use my FTP server, say so and I'll PM you the password.

Thank you for the answer

My source is not a MPEG file but a DVD (ifo & vob)

Firstly, make sure you are using the latest DGIndex build. Last time we had this issue, the user was using an old version of DGIndex.

Secondly, this sounds like a corrupted VOB. Is the VOB playable in software players? How was this ripped? Did the DVD have any newer protection schemes like ArCoSS? Try re-ripping it (if updating DGIndex didn't help) with another utility like DVDFab Decrypter.

DVD video is also MPEG ;) There are a few software programs that allow you to cut a short piece of the video out of a .VOB file, e.g., you can do that with DVDShrink - go to the Reauthor mode, drag the video stream you are interested into DVD Structure window, right click on it and select Set Start/End Frames

Another way is to use ChopperXP.

What was the answer and is there any way to fix it. I have a dvd doing exactly the same thing.

In that case, the questions in post #4 are also applicable to you. Answer them please. Also provide us a sample.

Give me a VOB fragment that lets me duplicate the problem. FTP password sent via PM.
