And I must ask of Nero developers, just what is taking so long for you guys to offer the High Profile for AVC encoding? I can understand the theory of it being ready when its ready but if I am not mistaken, did we not conduct a beta test for this almost an entire year ago? Nero 7 was rushed to market with many anticipating High Profile and interlaced encoding and many of us happily plunked down the cash to find out Nero 7 didnt include it. Other forums had Nero employees say to be patient and that it was coming when it was ready. Has Nero abandoned this offering or is this something you are holding back to squeeze even more cash out of us for a 7.5 reloaded scam ala nero 6.6?
Seriously, what has happened to Nero? Back in the Nero 5 days you guys were solid and offered incredible innovative products. Now we get bloated software and nearly each ones has major limitations and bugs. Back then we got a monthly update for bugs discovered. Now we get intermittent updates (this one day made it almost 2 months since the last one.
Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Nero better get its ct together soon. Many amazing apps can do what users need (MeGUI minus the interlacing) and with Vista coming up, DVD buring and authoring will minimize the need for Nero and many of its apps including Nero Home etc...
I miss JohnV as he usually kept us up to date on what was going on and was a major contributor to the forum. Has he moved on and no longer with Nero?

I still didnt see the ateme HP AVC codec released... so i guess nero wont implement a beta version... :P

Yeah its a shame too. You would think one of these companies would be chomping at the bit to get out of the block to offer some sort of HD DVD authoring (be it Nero or MS) and thus far neither has done anything but delay delay delay.

But indeed, perhaps each awaits the other's move. And thus a stalemate dost present itself to feed upon the corpses of long-deceased spectators...

ateme already said long ago that their codec isnt beta anymore and ready to be used
i think we simply should realise that there will not be high profile encoding support in nero's tools...

It is likely that Nero would have to pay Ateme more than they are willing to get HP support.

I dont know what the case is. I think I remember at one time, JohnV posted that Ateme was still beta testing and that it wasnt ready but when it was Nero would include it and then someone from Ateme said the encoder was finished. It just pisses me off because that was the only reason I bought Nero 7 to get the high profile update. Its just wrong to give your customers false expectations.

I think that nero is not interest for HP because, nero want's to keep nero digital standard which means if we now use ateme and encode to HP and this files after not readable to standalone players, nero will lose customers.

Neros going to lose customers anyway especially with buggy software and sporatic updates. They have lost me as one and I know of at least 20-30 more. Check out neowin sometime and youll see the majority of the forum went back to 6.6 or stayed with 6.6.

Indeed...
I don't have any Nero applications installed on my PC. And no way do I want to download and install any of their bloated 28 day free-trial softwares either!
I just can't be bothered, I'm very disappointed with them!

Itīs a very wrong move.
When they release their codec, was really fantastic.
But after so many time, many codecs improve(divx, x264..), and nero stay back

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD authoring from Nero were showcased at CES in January. Both machines are now out and yet Nero continues to sit on the tools.
I emailed their sales team about this and got a nonsensical reply denying that Blu-Ray had actually launched yet.

LOL, at least you got a reply. The onyl reply I ever got from Nero ever was some canned response saying they will forward it on to the development team. Nero is complete crap anymore.

I know it is frustrating that the High Profile support is still not here, but I said many times I will inform you when it's coming. I think some delays in general have happened because of re-arrangements of project teams because the software has grown so big, and because of bug fixing efforts. I think pretty soon the rearrangements start bearing fruit.
Anyway, the HP support is scheduled for a bigger update of this year, which is out pretty soon after the summer, so you will have to wait a little bit more.

the software has grown so big
for what reason has this happened ?? did we really need it to grow that big ? I don't think so :/
because of bug fixing efforts
you should have already fixed your bugs before releasing the Nero 7 package to the public or at least after the first "beta release" of it. Of course I mean critical bugs. But the reality is that you're fixing them for a too long period of time. Up to today ! It is simply unacceptable. And this is a really lame excuse for not including HP into the Recode..

I didn't say bug fixing is the (only) reason for High Profile delay. I was talking about delays in general. There are many reasons why High Profile is delayed: first was Ateme beta testing, then contract issues which took a very long time, then it was decided that it will be a feature of the bigger update of this year, and probably some other reasons in addition too.
I'm waiting for it very much too.. There will be High Profile support in Nero.

Heres a more important question. In this "bigger" update, is this going to cost us more money ala Nero 6.6 Reloaded?

I have no information that it would cost more money for current N7 users. I'll let you know when I know for sure/can say.
JohnV, when Nero HDDVD authoring tool will released?

Hello,
Nero seems to have its own resize?
2 questions:
Is it advantageous to use a .avs script with Nero?
What is the difference between an optimized script( my own resize :same realignment of Nero) and the realignment of Nero?
Thanks

Hello,
Nero seems to have its own resize?
From the options you will find 3 different "standard" methods in Recode which you can choose from: bilinear, bicubic and lanczos

Hmm, seems you are right. It was working some time ago.. Thanks.
Edit.
The problem is the new "external subtitles" option which seems to be on by default.. Hardware acceleration doesn't work when external subtitles are enabled from the ShowTime options, so disable it and Hardware Acceleration will work again.

I don't see what's wrong with Nero. Deselect the apps you won't use during install and Nero 7 itself is <50mb.
