Hello!

I've been a silent reader of the doom9 forum for over a year, and here I've learnt how to successfully back up many DVDs.

Now I've run into a problem with Shrek multiangle credits. I've done things as usual:

1) Ripped the DVD
2) Shrinked with VobBlanker
3) Removed the unwanted angle with IfoEdit 0.971
4) Removed "Set Angle" Commands with PgcEdit 0.7 (have to update!)
5) Rebuilt the DVD with DVD-RB 0.97 Free

The resulting DVD couldn't be seeked properly: it worked fine if played or jumping chapter to chapter, but bombed the player as soon as a seek was performed.

This problem I fixed by running the full DVD through FixVTS 1.3

But there's still one glitch left: when I play the DVD using MPC, the status bar reads "Angle 01/02", while the stand alone player correctly detects no angles.

DVD-RB, IfoEdit, VobBlanker and PgcEdit, all won't detect multiangles in the DVD.

How can I fix this DVD for good?

Welcome!

You can probably fix the seek problem with the (new) PgcEdit function Title -> Rebuild Time Map of current PGC (or VTS if you want.)

The angle problem can be caused by wrong flags in the cell table of the PGC. The angle block flag must be off. If PgcEdit doesn't report angles in its cells list, the flags are probably corrects.

You should also verify that the number of angles in the VMG_TT_SRPT table is 1. PgcEdit cannot modify that, but it's easy to do with IfoEdit.

Hello r0lz,

:thanks: for the quick reply!

I've updated PgcEdit and installed the new plugin, which indeed detected an error in the main movie PGC.

It also fixed that error, but it hasn't solved that angle problem. (Re)Checked the PTT_SRPT table, the angle count is correctly set to 1.

I wonder where the %!%!%$"$ MPC is reading angle information from.
