cd-rom performance

hi

i have started viewing divx material direct from cd onto
television but i am getting choppy frames
i noticed that the cd writes the avi to the hard drive in
small chunks (must be temp file/folder)is there anyway to read avi file direct from cd without having to use hard drive ? and therefore increase continuity flow of data ?

I had some problems with that a while back. It turned out to be the audio interleave values causing the stutter. Changed the interleave from 250ms to every frame and the prob went away.

edit-> I should add that I was using an mp3 audio track at the time. AC3 interleaving should be set to a different value (64ms or 96ms if memory serves) according to the posts I've read..
