Hey does anyone have more info on the formats used by HDDVD & Blu-Ray DVDs?
AVC/H.264 Main & High I understand. But what is VC-1? And are they both the same for Blu-Ray & HD-DVD?

Yes and no, it is a equivalent of MPEG4 ASP L5
Your picture information it's from Sonic Scenarist guide for HD DVD Standard content
(and some compatibles resolutions with Advanced content, aka iHD).
But it is not true for GOP structure.

vc-1 is definitely not mpeg-4 compatible...
its an own format m$ created as closed spec competitor to mpeg-4, but later has been forced to open spec it

I think it's fair to say that VC-1 is the "open spec" version of Micro$oft's "closed spec" WMV9 codec... with a few refinements (AFAIK).

No news from iHD multiplexer, option of Scenarist HD
(only multiplexer or there is new tool for iHD authoring).
Nobody here from HDAA (Sonic association for HD Authoring)
