Ok...
I'm old to video, but I've started to work with a sony handycam that's recording in 1080i60
that's 1080 interlaced, with 2 fields at 60 fields per second. It's a true interlaced source with the native resolution being 1440x1080

I guess I'm trying to figure out what people would recommend for going from this source to

1) 720p

2) regular anamorphic DVD output.

also, I'd love to hear recommendations for both PC and MAC as I have both, and was hoping to edit in final cut on the mac.

any recommendations would be very helpful
thanks!

Just about everything you'll want to do can be accomplished in superior quality using AviSynth. Tons of info on these boards - do some searches and test out some scripts.

In the Mac world, you might want to check out this forum:

If you don't mind, would you post a ten second clip of material? Even a pan across a room would be fine. www.Rapidshare.de will host it for free. TIA
