I'm attempting to put together a system that will automate some video capture and encoding. My original plan was to capture all audio and video as wmv files, then transfer them across the network to a machine running sorenson squeeze. Squeeze is running a watch folder and transcoding the wmv files to rm and mp4 for ipod.
Everything works, but my problem is that sorenson is slooooooowwwwww. It's taking about 7 hours to transcode 1 hour of video into the 2 files.
I can use the command line version of helix producer to transcode the wmv into rm and get that conversion done in just about real time. Does anyone know of a reasonable fast command line program I can use to encode the mp4 videos for ipod?
