View Full Version : Two questions regarding DVD E-STD

Hi all!
First of all, I apologize for making a new thread. I have made a thread where I was looking for a PTS, DTS monitor tool.
The reason I was looking for such tool is when I try to pass my DVD Video on DVD Verifier, I get an buffer management error. This means that an underflow has occured: either in the video buffer or the audio buffer.
Is there a way to find out which buffer is underflowing?

The second question is about linking two independent vobs seamlessly. mpucoder had given me some explanations in the past, but I still dont have a clear answer.
So my question is: Is it possible to link two independent vobs seamlessly?
If anyone knows a thread regarding the same question, please let me know.
Thanks in advance

There are many rules for multiplexing, but the basic ones concerning the P-STD buffer and SCR/DTS relationship is in the mpeg-1 system standard.
As I recall (buffer management and modelling have been stable for over a year now) the error message from the verifer does tell you which stream, if not directly, then by way of the pack LBA. What is the error number?

It is technically feasable to join two vobs seamlessly, but I do not know of any program that does that. You could use MuxMan 0.17 to do this by using its built-in demuxer. If both vobs are listed as sources for one MuxMan segment then they will become one vob, and you can set cell/program/chapter points. If you wish to retain the vob boundary then make two MuxMan segments, add them both to the title in the spreadsheet, and then mark the joint as seamless in the navigation browser.

Thank you, mpucoder. I have checked the errors log. You are right, the stream ID was mentionned.
The error number is 6002.

If you dont mind, could you tell me how to approach it?

I have tried MuxMan 0.15. I didnt get the above error, but the vobu_adp_id error did come up. I know it is a minor problem and the adp_id wasnt mentionned in the original dvd book.

I think we're using different verifiers, Philips has no error 6002. The vobu_adp_id is an HD field, for SD disks this area contains a second reference frame pointer. Make sure the verifier is checking only SD fields.

That's true. I use Panasonic DVD Verifier.
