Hello and the topic bluntly explains my current problem! Sad
I just bought this BenQ FP202W monitor on Friday after reading some good things about it. Sure I would love multiple inputs but the price point is was got me. Pikced it up after work, brought it home, hooked it up and noticed the giant stuck red pixel on the side. So I'm taking it back tommorow after work but I figured I might as well try it out over the weekend.
Since the VGA cable was already plugged into it I used that first with my PC and Xbox 360. Worked well, looked nice. Then I dug out the DVI cable to use with my PC. Got a distorted image when the bios screen booted up and the monitor displayed a, "Not in range" message. I made sure the cable was secure in both ends and unplugged the VGA cable from the 6800 in case there was a conflict from that. I also waited til XP was fully loading so I could muddle thru the hard to see desktop in case the screen res and refresh were set to something wrong but neither was.
The distortion is some thick lines along the sides with gaps between them, flickering screen as if the refreash was set to something well below 60 on a CRT and the entire screen was waving a small bit.
Have XPMC, a BFG 6800 GT, 1 gig ram, SB Audigy2. Is there some sort of OS patch/config or setting on this monitor that I'm missing or is my 6800 just too old or incompatible with this monitor. I should really look into this now before I take the monitor back for the pixel problems in case I might even need to get a different model.
