HI sorry to keep banging on about these players but i thought they where my DVD saviour but ive just been reading the manual on this and im a little confused. IIRC the Zoran 888 chipset is able to play gmc 3 point warp the manual says its max is only 1 point , and im sure the USB controller is 480mbps USB 2 on the Zoran diagram but only 1.1 in the manual.
Am i wrong or do you think LG have either printed the manual up wrong (say coping bits from tehre dvx range ) or have they crippled the player ?

I know it will come as no comfort but....
The more I read the specs of some of these players the more convinced I become that some of these manufacturers have not got a clue about what they are talking about!

Dolmon on teh avsforum just tested teh US version of this box DN191h and they have said its fine with i point but hangs on the 3point test clip so either we have teh 3point thing wrong or LG have crippled it ?

ok ive gone and bought the dnx190uh and so far all is good, first impressions are
Build quality - ok , the drive tray is flimsy but then this only cost £80 so im not expecting much
image - well its only on a crt attached by a scart currently , gotta save teh pennies for teh nice screen but its good. Ive also had a brief play with the divxtest cd and it plays back most of whast on there it does freeze up for a bit on the GMC 3 point ward encoded film and the on highest bit rate divx tests.
disc compatability - well its played my region 1 ntsc dvd's and also played back the vcd/svcd and kvcd test feeds as well as a dvd of stargate atlantis divx's that failed in my dvp762 and on my laptop which is cool
USB - well it hasnt recognised my mp3 player as a USB device , i think i need to play with this some more and possibly power it externally.
right off to play some more

The GMC test sample on the DivX Test CD is not really suitable for playback on stand-alone players...
Please try these 3-Warp-Point GMC Samples in MP4 (http://www.one.seemoredigital.net/MPEG-4_Player_Test_Files/3-Warp-Point_GMC_Samples_in_MP4.7z). And while you are at it could you try these Aspect Ratio Signalling Samples (http://www.one.seemoredigital.net/MPEG-4_Player_Test_Files/MPEG-4_AR_Signalling_Test_Cards_Videos.7z) too?
EDIT: they are "video only" samples....
Many thanks

will do ...
USB update - it recognises my wifes 60gb ipod as a usb device but fails to read it not sure why. Im guessing its like the Philips 5960 in this respect by that i mean it will see devices marked that show in windows as removeable storage but not those that appear as a Hard disc . Im quest now is to find a 2.5inch hd enclosure that does this and has external power as i dont think the port on thr LG provides enoiugh juice.
The Nero GMC sample has some motion blur particularly on teh starting shot and when anakin and obi wan leave the room, the xvid sample plays perfectly
Its a little late and my brain isnt working what do you wnat me to look for with the other two clips ?

Its a little late and my brain isnt working what do you wnat me to look for with the other two clips ?I supplied those, so you could test whether your player correctly handles MPEG-4 streams which contain Aspect Ratio Signalling ;)

Well then yes it played them , though on my rubbish tv they looked a bit scrappy. Still a bit arsed off about the USB implementation but ive found a multiregion code that works so thats a bonus.

Hi Flipside,
Would you kindly let me in on the multi-region code you used? I've had this player 3 weeks ans still haven't found one that works for me. I've even got a binary image for a program to multi-region enable the Zoran chipset I have but having trouble burning the image to CD.
Anything you have would be a great help in getting the best out of this player.
Thanks.
