View Full Version : A wish re: menu buttons with either VOBblanker or PGCEDIT..
Senor Soto & Monsieur rOlZ,
Possibly a hare-brained idea:
With VOBblanker, when stilling a menu with audio, basically the program "captures" a jpg/bmp(whatever, not technical) and repeat it for the duration of the audio...right? How about allowing the user to provide the re-touched jpg/bmp and import it..? The idea comes from VOBblanker's EXTRACT and REPLACE abilities...
With PGCedit, it can create a new button. How about a button with an overstrike line to overlay the button that has been HIDDEN?

You can do that already in VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) surf! Use the File - replace in menu to stills. You need muxman to mux but VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) does it for you in the background in the blink of an eye.
Also DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php) has this feature.
Regards
Thanks Blu, you mentioned what I am already aware of, Goonix's guide at the sticky section.
I was just wishing out loud, hoping to avoid using Muxman, seeing that VOBblanker seems to be demuxing and remuxing when performing menu stills anyway....no?

What vobblanker can't do (and muxman can) is turn a picture (jpeg, or tiff or?) into a valid I-Frame. When stilling a menu you don't need to do that since the I-Frame is already there. When replacing the image you have to create the I-Frame, and vobblanker can't do that (yet)...

VobBlanker can call MuxMan automatically when you import a bmp to replace the menu background. You just set the path and you don't even realize it is being used.

You just set the path and you don't even realize it is being used. Yes, muxman is so fast encoding one bmp in a VOB that you do not notice it!. Just drag and drop the bmp in VobBlankler's preview window and in less than one second the bmp is converted to MPEG-2, and opened in the preview window replacing the current VOB...
I'm very proud about this feature. It was easy to code, and the results are amazing... (muxman has the most of the merit)

Yes, VobBlanker works like a charm.
Only if you want to modify the highlights too, you still need my guide. ;)

Can't use this option; I installed last version (2.1.1.0), installed MuxMax, setted the muxman path and the temp path; then drag and dropped an bmp image in the preview window and I have the error: "No input path in project file".
What is my mistake?
Thanks

Sorry for the delay, I was in a business trip last week.
This error should popup when loading a wrong VobBlanker project file (an ini file w/o the InputPath key in General section)
So, seems you're dragging and drop the file in the wrong window. Probably you're dropping it in the main window. What you have to do is open the cell preview window from cell list dialog and drag & drop the bmp in the window labeled "CELL PREVIEW/CUT....."

Hi, jsoto!
Probably im an idiot but i cant have these feature to work.
Im selected a menu in the main vindows, so double-check, selected the menu that i wont to replace then pressed the preview button: now im in the "CELL PREVIEW/CUT....." windows. I drag & dropped an 720x576 windows bmp format bitmap on the preview windows but the "plus box" do not appear (like the main windows does). Seem that in these windows drag & drop is not permitted..... What is my mistake?
Thanks for your help
...........and sorry for my poor english
Itr's not the preview/cut window. You need to open the "Still" window:
1) In the main window, select the VTS and click on the "Menu" button.
2) In the "Menu of VTS XX" window, select the LU and double click on the PGC.
3) In the "Cells in Menu" window, select the cell, and click on the "Still" button.
4) Drag and drop your BMP over the "MOTION2STILL in MENUS" window.
