I was thinking of encoding the credits in Black and white to gain some quality in the main movie, but i think that when DVD-RB works, it makes an avs file per cell right?, so the average Bitrate is distributed in only that cell, so if this is true then i cant gain any quality in the main movie by doing this...
Thanks

If you wanted to do it:
- Put DVD-RB in 3 click mode
- Edit the credits avs file after the Prepare stage and add the line GreyScale() at the end
- Use RB-Opt to lower the bitrate for the credits cell

Love your sig Bullseye.
If you really wanna save some space, have a look at this (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=244783#post244783). It should give you some ideas.

you could also just remove the credits completely if you wanted to. i always remove the start/end credits for every movie.
this is what i do... rip the movie with DVDFab Decrypter, run it through DVDShrink in re-author mode, select the movie only (drag it over), click on the icon with the arrows going left and right (this is the cut feature) and slide it to the start/end and output to file mode (make sure DVD9 is selected in the preferences so theres no quality loss). now just run it through DVD-RB.
if you want to keep the menu (like me) you can use a tool called Titlewriter. its VERY simple to add back the original menu with your output from DVDShrink (since we did movie only) and it includes a little walkthrough file.

It would be easier to use VobBlanker to blank/cut the credits if you wanted to keep menus and perhaps an extra, instead of using DVDShrink and Titlewriter.

yeah, but i've had problems using vobblanker to pre-process with DVD-RB. when i used the prev/cut feature in vobblanker, ive had a few movies stutter terribly.
thats the way i used to do it.
its still very easy with shrink/titlewriter, but its an extra couple steps.

Blank the last segment(contaning credits) using VOBblanker, if you are using the prev/cut feature, always use the KEEP option than the CUT, the CUT option has some problems.

by CUT option, do you mean cut in the middle of a cell?
if so, usually the intro credits are in the middle of a cell, and sometimes same goes for the end credits.
also, vobblanker, i believe, still cannot handle multiple angles.
i just like how with shrink, you can just move the slider to exactly where you want the start/end to be, and there doesnt appear to be any incompatibility with this method with DVD-RB.
again, merging the menu with titlewriter is as simple as a few clicks once you know what to do, and its not hard to learn at all.

Be very, very careful when using any of these cutting methods.
Many of these software packages don't distinguish between closed/open GOPs -- which causes problems. They also often forget to update settings when they "cut". You can't believe how many orphaned frame problems I've seen caused by MPEG "cutting" programs. This is the most common cause of the former "Error #0006" and now "corrupt source" warnings.

I meant CUT has problems use Keep method. Yes to discard the end part of the credits, even if it means discarding the second half of a cell. The "KEEP" method does not cause problems with DVD-RB.
VOBblanker has a another tool call del_angle which you have to use to handle multiple angles and then VOBblanker normally.

ahh, i see what you're talking about now.
i did use the Keep option, instead of the Cut option, and i still had stuttering problems with 3/5 of my DVD players.
where can i get this del_angle tool?

It comes with the newest version of VobBlanker.

VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) warns if you are cutting on an open GOP. Use an open GOP cut at your own risk.

It's not free but DvdReMake (http://whttp://www.dimadsoft.com) is a great tool to completely edit your dvd's.
