I researched and tested about burning freeware.
The resutlt was reported to this site (http://yaki2fan.hp.infoseek.co.jp/kensyou/kensyou.htm).
There evaluates about two point.
(1)Order of files (especially in case order of titles aren't order of VTS. In the case even commertial software had the problem in old days.)
(2)gaps between files according to IFO description. (Nero doesn't keep gaps is famous)
1)burn at once(0.99b) : file's order is legal. gaps doesn't keep.
2)DeepBurner(free ver.) : file's order is not legal, alphabet.
3)CDBurnerXP Pro 3 : file's order is not legal, alphabet.
4)burn4free : file's order is not legal.
5)CD/DVD Burning : file's order is legal, but not UDF-ISO bridge.
Regards
(Edit)but I recommend ISO-creation + Imgburn, or bundle software.

(Edit)but I recommend ISO-creation + Imgburn, or bundle software. For the ISO creation part, I'd recommend Coujo's IMG Tool Classic - get it from doom9's download page.

For the ISO creation part, I'd recommend Coujo's IMG Tool Classic - get it from doom9's download page.
And one more, PgcEdit. It can DL burning and has mkisofs which is faster.
Are there any good solutions for mounting a DVD-Video folder, located on the hard drive, as a virtual drive? In order to skip creating an ISO altogether, I mean.

For now under 5 gig you can use Coujo's tool, go to his site and you will but it needs nero
or you can wait for imgburn when it is ready to do on fly burn( now that would be sweet:) :) )
here is a link for you

I have no idea how good they are, never used them

And download here: http://www.coujo.de/

you need nero for ImgTool
ImgTool Burn uses the Nero API to burn DVD root directories directly to DVD. Because the Nero API is used, you need an installed version of Nero Burning ROM
from the site:D

you need nero for ImgTool ... from the site:D You're right BUT you need to understand the difference between the two versions of ImgTool: "burn v1.2.1" (needs nero) and Classic v0.91.7 (uses DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn) which by the way are the latest releases available the same day.

ImgBurn is a free DVD image burning software from the original author of DVD Decrypter.

Best choice (free):
PgcEdit to modify the IFO files (this is an essential part, missed by almost ALL recording programs!)
Mkisofs to create the ISO (with respect for the informations in the IFO files.)
ImgBurn to brun the ISO (able to put the layer break at the right position.)
Daemon Tools to mount the ISO (optional, of course.)
Everything is integrated in PgcEdit, so you have one global interface. See the guides here (http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with_pgcedit_v2.htm) and here (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/dl_burning_with_pgcedit.htm).
As far as I know, no other (free or commercial) programs are able to burn DL DVDs and respect the 32K gaps, except perhaps RecordNow!
ImgTool Classic respects the informations in the IFOs, but is unable to verify or modify them. Therefore, you still need a pre-processing program to compute the correct VTS sector pointers. This is essential to burn DL DVDs. In consequence, DO NOT USE ImgTool (classic or burn) to burn double layer DVDs!
ImgTool Burn uses the Nero engine. Therefore it is not really free, and it has all problems Nero has! IMO, it's really not a good solution.

Some information
I confirmed B's Recorder(ver.7.5) can do it.
(ver.7.2 can't)
and
*respect the gaps : B's Recorder,PowerProducer, Power2GO.
*able to burn DL DVDs(+R) : B's Recorder, Zule.

Thanks for the info, jinjin!
I don't know these burners. I'll try them...

I avoid of using free tools for that because now I know that you got what you paid.
Why don't you just donate to the authors, if that makes you feel better?

Hum, I'm not sure the product is better when you have to pay. For example, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn, mkisofs, DVD Shrink, MenuShrink, DVDSubEdit, etc... are all free tools, and are unequaled! No commercial equivalent can reach them! Why should I pay while I can have the best tool for free?
Also, Presentation To Video Converter is perhaps a good tool (I don't know it), but it's not a burning app.
LIGHTNING UK!

Indeed, looking at that tool, I can't see why anyone would want it except maybe someone in a big company with too much in their IT budget and no brain.
...and as a side note, what a random post considering it's nothing at all to do with the topic, which was to find a good tool for burning a VIDEO_TS folder.
Lucky I'm not one to assume the worst, or I'd have said that was nothing more than a blatent plug for a commercial application.
Oh hang on, I wasn't born yesterday! It WAS a blatent plug for commercial software - much like ALL of your other post.
Go plug your software elsewhere please, that kind of thing just annoys me and you really don't want that.

I will stick to freeware ImgBurn myself.
Besides, that tool looks like something targeted to the technically impaired. :D
P.S. I had far to many problems when I used to burn with Nero, which is of course payware.
