No sound

I convert DivX movies to SVCD to be able to watch them on my DVD-player. However, since I purchased my Soundblaster Live! 5.1 sound card and installed the drivers necessary to use it, I no longer get any sound. Moreoever the mpeg2 file is twice as long as it should be just filled with black half of it.

How do I fix this? Can I fix this?
