I've just started testing my Linux VDR and recorded some shows with my DVB-S card. I've converted the raw streams (.vdr) to .mp2 with ProjectX, renamed them to mpg (which they actually are) and opened it in AutoGK which did not recognize the stream.
Is there a way to do this or even use the .vdr files with AutoGK?

Hi,
From AGK FAQ:
"5.4 What kind of input sources does AutoGK support?
- mpeg2 sources (including vobs and transport streams), AVI sources (starting with version 2.00, providing that your OS can decode them via DShow), mpeg1 sources (starting with version 2.12)."
I only tried mpg(2) from my capture prog (Ulead videostudio8 & 9)
Did you try vdr direct or just renaming vdr to mpg?
Why vdr to mp2 (audio) to mpg?

Both vdr and renaming it to mpg did not work. Of course I meant m2p which actually is mpg.

I've moved this thread to our HDTV / DVB / Tivo forum, where you may have access to more expertise regarding DVB-S transformations.

Thanks.
But I'm not sure I'm gonna do it anymore. I mean, I've recorded a political show of 1,5 hours, cut and converted it to mpg and then used AutoGK to make a 700 MB xvid file out of it. A two pass on my Sempron 2200+ (1,5 real Ghz) took me *7* hours! That's too much for me. I guess I'm gonna put it as mpg on DVD+RW, watch it on my standalone and delete it afterwards.
