View Full Version : Subtitles not showing on one of my dvds

Hi, I have a problem with one of my dvds.

When I select the subtitles from the "subtitles-menu", they are not selected. I can select them with my remote, but that is not the idea with a menu. ;)

The DVD is working perfectly in PowerDVD.

Is there a way to make the buttons in the menu work? For example changing the commands or something?

I hope someone in here can help me :)

Thanks in advance,
LosKyllos

Hi!

1) What is the Title and Region of the DVD?

2) Is it a copy or the original (or both) that is exhibiting this problematic behavior?

3) If it's a copy, what software and procedures did you use to create it?

1) Green Street Hooligans R2 Nordic

2+3) A copy. I have used VobBlanker to remove stuff and DVD-RB to reencode with CCE.

I found out another thing about this problem. In PowerDVD it always plays with the my language as subtitle, but I guess that is just because it is default in PowerDVD. I can't change the subtitles with the menu.

The buttons simple doesn't do anything. Is there a way to do something about this? :) Adding new commands to them or something.

I don't know if the original does it, but I can tell you later if that is important :)

I don't know if the original does it, but I can tell you later if that is importantI think it could be important...

The original doesn't do it.

Actually I think I maybe know the problem. I removed a button in that menu with MenuEdit, but somehow I deleted it instead of hiding it. I guess that COULD be the problem. What do you think? And is there a way to fix it again?

Yes, it might be the problem! Deleting a button instead of hiding it can lead to navigation errors.

You can try to recreate the missing button with PgcEdit's menu editor. Then, hide it, and, most important, renumber it so that it is at the same position than the original deleted button in the list of buttons. For example, if it was button number 3, it must be button 3 again. You can change the button number with Buttons -> Increase and Decrease Button Number. (You cannot create a new button nor change its number with MenuEdit.)

Sorry I havn't answered before.

That didn't work. :( Is there really not an easy way to create the commands again?

Yes, it's easy... if you know the original command.

And if I don't know it? Can't I recreate it with "new" commands?

You have to analyse and understand how the menu works. That's not so easy!
Anyway, recreating the missing button should work, and it's a lot easier. Try again!
