I mean How...:D

A tried AVI-mux, but the program only supports *.SSA files.
(My .ASS file is a Karaoke subtitle...so a cant change it to SSA)

What tool(s) I have to use to accomplish the task I mentioned?

Thanks

I too would like to know. I'd also like to know how furigana works in .ASS files too, for dialogue (or at least someone who will write automated scripts for that).

txt2ass is in private alpha (closed alpha) testing.

There isn't really a good way to do this, in fact, if AviMux_GUI doesn't support it, I'd say it's impossible. If you want to use softsubs, you should use a more advanced container (mkv in this case) which can hold them, or burn them in and have a hardsubbed file.

Ok, If remuxing the file to Mkv will solve the problem, I will do that.

Thanks

since SSA/ASS doesn't support that natively, the only way would be placing another event line above it, and that means you need to find the exact cords. of every kanji relative to the frame, which would depend on text size and hell lot of other stuff.

the tool hkl8324 posted seems to be able to do that, and that screenshot is one of the most beautifully placed furigana I have ever seen, and uses Karaoke !!! hard to belive it is done automatically, too bad its not available for download....

a more "elegant" way would be USF (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=678040#post678040), which supports the xml ruby tag for the purpose, but it's not actually anywhere easier to use.....

:
I found it,
click on the first screenshot to download txt2ssa.lzh ....

I'll have to find time to check it out (does that mean no use of USF for me?)

to hkl8324,
any guides on using txt2ssa ?

There's an automation script for the Aegisub 1.10 prereleases that can do furigana in karaokes. http://www.malakith.net/aegisub/viewtopic.php?t=218
Using it isn't exactly trivial, but it actually works pretty well.
Result looks like this: http://www.animereactor.dk/gg/binchou-kara1.jpg
