I have read the threads and still can't burn capote. i installed a psl2 file using dvd decrypter3.5.4.0 and when i use dvdshrink 3.2 the main movie folder doesn't contain the main movie (only a file that is 1352mb). There is a menus folder and extras folder too, but i can't find the main movie. What am I doing wrong?

1) Did you (as you should) use VOBBlanker (or "FixVTS") afterwards to "clean up" the files?
2) As I mentioned in another thread about the Region 1 version of "Capote":From personal experience (I had to exchange "Capote" twice), I know that there are some poorly pressed copies of this Region 1 DVD...

Ok, so i didn't, are they free? and where can i download them, and is there somewhere that will tell me how to use them? VOBBlanker (or "FixVTS")

Load the rip into VOBBlanker and:
Set an output directory, select "Process all" - and then press the "Process" radiobutton.
The new DVD "package" created by VOBBlanker in your output directory should be processed properly by DVD Shrink....

does it have anything to do with the fact that i don't see the main movie in shrink?

This is the error i got after i tried to process. That looks like you tried to run VOBBlanker BEFORE you installed the PSL2 file and ripped with DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4.
You have to first rip the DVD to your harddrive, using DVDDecrypter v.3.5.4 with the PSL2 file - and then use VOBBlanker on the ripped DVD "package" that's then on your hard drive...

That's only the beginning of the log. Please post the ENTIRE log that's generated after you've opened the DVD and imported the PSL2 file into DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 and selected a location to save the "rip" to and have actually started and completed the "rip"...

Have you selected a "destination folder" and then clicked on the large DVD icon to actually start the ripping?
rosepetal
1st June 2006, 00:39
Yes, and the folder is labeled Capote, with another folder inside labeled Video_TS with all files inside
setarip_old
1st June 2006, 01:42
Then, if that's the case, you should have a FULL DVD Decrypter log showing, in addition to the portion you previously posted, a list of all of the .IFOs, .BUPs, and .VOBs, as they were being ripped - ending with a line indicating average rip speed and highest rip speed...
By the way, when you imported the PSL2 file into DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4, did it indicate that the PSL2 file was acceptable, or was there a statement to the effect that, "This is not the correct PSL file for this DVD"?

Since you state that the PSL2 file was imported successfully, I'd speculate that you have a poorly pressed DVD. As I said in Post #2 in this thread,From personal experience (I had to exchange "Capote" twice), I know that there are some poorly pressed copies of this Region 1 DVD...I'd suggest you return the DVD to the place of purchase, in exchange for a new replacement...
Try FixVTS on your rip. It's easy to use. Just drag and drop one the VOB's, click full disk, process in place. Has worked every time for me.

Hi!
I'm fairly certain that "FixVTS" cannot resolve the problem described:E 14:03:06 Failed to read Sector 123621 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
E 14:03:07 Failed to decrypt VTS_01_1.VOB!

Instead of doing the process manually, have you tried the PgcEdit (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/index.html) plugin wizard?
See Kill ARccOS in my signature.
Click here to install all required programs (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=58318).

For what it's worth, this isn't the first thread where I've found people who have struggled with ripping Capote. I'd take the above advice - return the disc for a replacement then try it again.
