Hi there!

I'm a Firefox for about 6 monthes but last weekend i decided to give IE7 a try... it looks cool!

I know that the new most "interesting" features were "taken" from other browsers but still... it looks pretty neat!

Anyway... I would like to hear some "feedback" about it... anyone else has tested it?

Thank you in advance.

@Rockas

Olá companheiro ! (Hi mate !)

I've tested it out but frankly it's so far away from FF IMHO. FF is very stable right now and the 'extensions' add-ons add much functionality and comfort into it. With FF I'd some issues to load some web pages but since it installed the "TryAgain" extension I'd not such issue again and so I didn't use IE7 never more. :)

Um abraço (a hug),

the new IE has still inferior support of CSS 2 comparing to Firefox & Opera.

I have tested it for over a month. I don't like the interface. And the memory usage is much more than Firefox or Opera. The feed capabilities are good, but thats about it.

Oh yeah I love IE7. I love being prompted with an "Open File - Security Warning" everytime I open an MP3 I downloaded via IE7 even thugh the file is on MY computer now, it still feels it had the need to second guess my command. I didnt have any problem with this until I got IE7. I made a little tribute to it.

I got it only because I was curious how much has the CSS support in rendering engine progressed... after 5 years that M$ didn't cared about fixing it :P

I don't like it, I mean I like it better then 6, but if this is their answer to firefox they lose big. But firefox has major issues and the lack of leadership (or rather the discipline that comes from being paid to do a job) is starting to show. The thrill of the open source, people who know each other working on a hobby kinda vibe is over. Instead of fixing all the little annoyances that make using firefox a chore like the memory issue, the wmv issue, (mime types) the constant dropped connections, the crashes, etc. I have started to use both browsers again side by side, because neither one of them does what I need.

Opera 9 seems to me much better than IE7.
Yes, IE7 is definatly better than 6 it's not even as close to make me drop Opera :)

IE7 starts up noticeably quicker than FF on my machines, and I like the 'Quick Tabs' tab preview. Stability seems to be an issue with both of them, especially after opening and closing many tabs in the same browser instance. I really miss FF's 'Start searching when you start typing' feature in IE7. Lots of sites don't support FF, and I've found several that are confused and don't support IE7 either (they tell you to upgrade to IE6).

Later.

That's what the "Open in IE Tab" extension is made for ;)

Because they are not developed using W3C's web standarts :D

The "Open in IE Tab" extension did work well for me.

It's a great extension. I used the "Open in IE" before, but the idea of a simple tab is really nice, also because it's possible to switch the engine in the current tab :)
