How to prevent automatic crop?

Hello,

I've been using AutoGK (2.27) on my DVD collection. It's better to stream my concert DVDs to XBOX then to constantly switch them on the DVD unit.

Now I have a problem with a recording of some concert of TV with my KiSS DP-558 component. It's in VOB format. 4:3 aspect ration with AC3 stereo sound. Nothing special. But if you look at it:

You can see that the concert image is in 16:9 format with a TV logo on the top right corner. If I run it over with AutoGK, no matter what resolution I choose for it (even if I select auto mode) it will crop the video in 16:9 format starting from the top, leaving bottom croped. To explain why this is wrong:

It crops too much. So it's missing the song title.

As I can understand I have three options.

1. Compress it manualy (I prefer AutoGK)

2. Crop the VOB file myself removing the black bars and the half of the TV logo and then recopress with AutoGK.

3. Force AutoGT not to crop anything, or if it can be done, tell him manualy where to crop the video.

Anyone here has batter idea or knows a proper solution?

Hi,

It's a matter of tuning the "Tune auto crop params":
-Check the box try raising above 34. For capture, I have good results at 68/69.
-If too much: lower; If not enough: adjust manually force cropping up and/or down 4 or 4*x pixels at a time; if not mod 16 you may have strange PAR/DAR.
-With this method I can always get good results even if some time/test needed.

Side remark, how to test: use preview; when indexing done, you have no delay when reusing preview and the cropping changes will reflect in the new preview.
