Hey, could you please help me identify and remove these artifacts? They seem to be part of the source, and I'd like to remove them using Avisynth filters.

Can you post a link to a source VOB fragment?

Of course. I'll do it ASAP.

EDIT: Here ya go (http://rapidshare.de/files/20296014/doom9sample.demuxed.m2v.html).

Follow the link, then click on the 'Free' button. You'll then have to wait a few seconds, after which it'll give you a code to enter. Once you've done that you can download.

The banding? That's just a "feature" of yv12's limited colorspace in lights and darks. I made a deband script for excessively banded sources, but it won't do more than lessen the problem. Even the ffdshow deband filter effectively hides most of the effect, though, since it can output to RGB.

Neuron2 has never downloaded from rapidshare? You must not spend much time on 4chan. :sly:

If you're using Internet Explorer, first you'll have to drop your shields a little and ensure that "Active Scripting" is enabled. (Thankfully, you need not enable ActiveX.)

When you first visit the page, you'll see a chart where you must choose your download type. At the bottom of the chart, click the button that says "Free," and a countdown will begin, next to some text that says "Download-Ticket reserved." (For me, it was a 30 second wait.) When the countdown finishes, look for some text that says "No premium user. Please enter [XXX] here." The [XXX] is a multi-colored 3 digit code. Enter that in the textbox and the download should begin immediately. Hope that helps.

I've used it before, but as I said, this time it just solicited me for money and didn't give me the countdown, etc. I don't know why.
