I spotted this on lg's site and it looks quite interesting as it has the vaddis 888 chipset and makes use of the usb port / hdmi though not the ethernet functionalty (apolgies for no linkage but I'm writing this on my phone on the train) I've talked to lg and they said its out at the end of this month has anybody read and previews / reviews. I've done a dogpile search but can only find lg's site and my post over in avforums .

I'm in the market for a new dvd/divx player and have been watching the kiss dp-600/zensonic/snazio stuff for a while but that genre all seem a little to buggy for my liking and this lg hits all the right notes. The lack of ethernet is an anoyence rather than a problem as I don't think I'd make much use of it right now.

thanks

matt

Here's a link: -

Don't forget though.... this LG player is "std-def" capable only (with up-scaling). Where-as the KiSS DP-600, the Zensonic Z500 and the Snazio SZ1350 are "hi-def" capable ;)

thanks SeeMoreDigital yeah the high def thing doesn't really worry me as yet as I'm unlikley to have any such media for a while and when it does come more of a thing in my life I'd kinda like a box that has opticle hi def capabilty as well as I'm a man who likes to keep his boxes to a minimum.

From what I understand, Samsung have a Vaddis 888 chip-set based player in the pipeline too ;)
