View Full Version : Encoding multiple files w/o user interaction

I've searched the forum (using google) and have not come up with what I am looking for. This may be because I'm not quite sure what search terms to use. I tried "automatic batch encode", "automatic script encode", "batch episode encode", and a few others. Nothing. (Well, I did find info about automatic single file encoding)

That said, I'm looking for something (batch, script, tool, etc.) that will allow me to enqueue multiple files (.vobs, from a TV series DVD) and from there auto encode them (with no user interaction whatsoever). I also would like to be able to use this .bat (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=804680&postcount=87") (or the settings from it) for the encode.

Thanks to anyone who responds.

P.S. Is this the right forum?

Wrong forum. Look at some of the tools in the MPEG-4 Encoder GUIs forum. Most of the tools there can do batch encoding.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up using this (http://beta.zenaria.com/kpo/avs.html) to generate a .bat file to make the .d2v files, then used the same tool again to make another .bat which created the .avs files. I then used the .bat from the XviD presets thread, here (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=804680&postcount=87%22), to create the compressed videos (it looks for .avs in the same dir as itself and makes .avi's with the same filename as the .avs). Now all I have left to do is mux the audio with the video.

One slight problem, I changed the output of the encoder to .mkv and the files are glitchy in vlc, though they play fine in mpc and zoomplayer.
