Sleepers, new look needed, see pictures...

This is the italian version of Sleepers, a very bad quality dvd (original untouched).
I need a filter to get it better looking.

Do you mean you want to sharpen it? And what filter can make it "new"?

There are lots of sharpening filters for Avisynth. LimitedSharpen() is quite popular.

In parts, it looks like it's already been sharpened then blurred.

That might be difficult to reverse! Can't you find a better transfer elsewhere, and maybe add the Italian sound track from what you have? Or am I way off?

dunno much 'bout filters.
I like the stile used on Spilberg's movie (cool colors, not warm)
I was wondering if there is a common fix for old authored dvds.
I've seen the work on the new edition of disney's Lady and the trump and compared to the old one has very bright colors.
Maybe they done the capture again...
Anyone here got Sleepers american release and can say is good?
