I'v noticed that encoded movies in Flask with the Bicubic HQ appears
better than movies encoded in Nandub using the Gknot standard resize algos(avisynth's).It seems to me that the bicubicHQ in Flask is quite like the Soft bicubic in Gknot, but it can handle the background noise better, still mantaining a certain level of detail for the faces.
In nandub there is a lot of noise in background (I'm speaking about perfect movies that give 100% in Gknot), while in flask there is like a soft effect, but only for the background.

Anyone can confirm it and suggest me a way to edit the .avs file
function to obtain a similar effect ?

maybe (probably) you have an yuv-playback problem. get the latest driver for your gfx-card and/or try setting your desktop to a different color-depth.

I think I should explain better my problem.
I did some tests and no way I use nandub (fast recompress, full)
I obtain the same result everytime. Probably I should post some image, but for the moment I cant. One thing I noticed is that in Bsplayer forcing the rgb from the video options solve the problem.
I mean, there are some zones (spots where often there r blocks like walls and parts of the same color) where is possible to notice the original color (right) and red-violet and green pixels/blocks (wrong) that give the scene a sense of shit :p , specially where something in foreground move leaving a trace of this effect.
I thought that it could be a problem of filtering, but it seems to me that probably your right.
Can u help me please ?
I have a geforce 2 with the last drivers 11xx for desktop resolution 32bit color win2000.

One thing I noticed is that if I put yuv or yuv12 in Xmpeg it gives me an Overlay error (DirectDraw: overlay initialization), but in bsplayer the overlay works.

Thank you in advance.

No problem for xmpeg it was my fault.
But the yuv problem remains.

I think i got the same problem...yuv output seems to be shit and full of bugs on my system...i tried to change the last drivers for my Geffo2 but that red uggly color appears every time in some scenes for apparetely unknown reasons,'cause it seems are not scenes that require too mutch bitrate...and this suck effect disappares(nearly to be perfect) if i use the rgb in the bsplayer video-preferences.
so.. anyone really couldn't know what to do to solve this bad effect?
