Need a new DVD Drive

Hi! It was suggested that I post here for some answers, I first posted this in the Newbie forum. I'm looking to buy a DVD drive and I wanted to know if there are certain brands that have hardware DRM that I should avoid. I search the forums already for duplicate, so I'm pretty sure this is the only thread on this topic. Thanks!
