Hi everyone.

Im using Dreamweaver to build/maintain a site, each page has 2 colums(right, left) one with links the other with news sction.

Everytime i want to add links or update/delete news its takes ages as i have to edit each colum in each page, i started to edit the first page and the copy/paste to thje others but it still takes a while.

Just wondering if any of you knows a better way of doing? something like tags like on blogger where we can put all of our links in one tag, name it links for example and when we paste "LINKS" anywhere it will display all the links.

sorry if it im not making myself clear.

Thanks

Ricardo

Do you mean column for navigation? In that case you might be interested to learn about Dreamweaver templates.

for example all my pages have the text/content in middle, a left coulun to put links for all the pages of the website, and on the right coulumn i have the links and news section, the right column needs updating as the wnews section becomes "obsolete" very quick.

if i have 10 pages i have to manually edit the right colun in all of them, what i was hoping was for a solution kind of like the blogger tags where we "writte all the links" and save iot as a Tag/shortcut for the links.

SSince all my pages are based in one layout, i could edit the links and news in the template and it would automatically change for all pages based on the template?
Is it that what you're saying Stax? Can you point me out some links if you can? Or anyone else?

Thanks

Dreamweaver is very powerful and I'm not expert since I've only used it for the StaxRip help and website which is rather simple, what might be interesting for you are the following help topics (press F1 and paste it in the index):

About Dreamweaver templates
Working with library items

I'm using all this, it's really not hard and works pretty well.

One of the most powerful uses of templates is the ability to update multiple pages at once. A document that is created from a template remains connected to that template (unless you detach the document later). You can modify a template and immediately update the design in all documents based on it.

Thats exactly what i was looking for. Thanks, i read the Help files before but i quickly got lost wiyth all the options

Cheers

Just one more question? I currently depend on 3rd party sites to host the videos, but as from today i got domain name with 1GB space and 15 Gb monthly bandwith

Is there way of transfering the videos from those 3rd party sites to my new space without having to upload it all again?
