I had an awful time synching my DivX 4 movie. I tried all suggestions (in guides and forum), but this is what fixed it . . .
Change the default post-proccessing level to a lower value! (In WMP File-Properties-Advanced-DivX Decoder Filter properties)
Yes,yes, I know it's probably a hardware lag thing, but the droped frames were few and far enough between that I didn't notice that problem earlier. I set the level to 0. It also looks better (although that seems counter intuitive). I hope this helps someone else
