nero download problem

i'm getting an error when trying to download the latest version of nero which says shell manager is missing or not available i have sent nero an email however if someone can help me out it would be appreciated

Have you tried downloading ANYTHING else - so you can determine if it is, in fact, a NERO-specific problem or a problem with your PC?

i can use all the programs on nero from all programs however i cannot access it from my desk top when i click on it nothing happens & when i try to download the newest version it gives me an error that says shellmanager database is coorupt or missing

i read it seta its not my pc i currently have about 5or 6 entries of nero demo on my add or remove i cannot get rid of it so i deleted all entries of ahead & nero on my computer i the ran regedit & did the same i then tried to download the newest version thats when i got that error i never had that issue with 6 ultra . nero needs to change the way there software is downloaded

I understand that you are definitely having a problem with the NERO software and downloading it.

But what I've apparently been unable to convey to you is the possibility that your problem(s) may be GREATER than that. Your reference to "shell manager" may indicate that you've fouled up something else on your computer, related to downloading IN GENERAL.

So, to find out whether your problem actually is limited ONLY to NERO, I'm suggesting that you try to download ANYTHING, from ANYWHERE, that has nothing to do with NERO - and see if you have similar problems.

If you don't have similar problems, you can then at least KNOW WITH CERTAINTY that your problem is ONLY related to NERO...

Perhaps the demo version of Nero doesn't allow online updates.

i was able to download the new beta version of internet explorer last night for xp 64 bit & when i tried to shut down the computer i got [net-broadcast event window 1.0.5000.4:cli.exe-error the exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occured in the the application at location ox7d634282 click on ok to terminate the program

It sounds like whatever you did to the registry might have hosed it. If you have system restore try that. If not, it might be reinstall time. (Which isn't a bad idea if you have a lot of crud accumulated anyway, even though it's a pain to reinstall software.)

i got [net-broadcast event window 1.0.5000.4:cli.exe-error...Then it would seem (As I was trying to suggest might be the case) that your problem is NOT limited to or caused by NERO...

i was able to update several different programs dvdfab convert todvd& someother stuff
