DVD Decryptor IO Error... is my drive going south??

Hey all,

Ripping the third season of The Sopranos today...

The second disc seems to give my drive problems, though it could be just because its a little scratched. I get the following error:

what do you think, just a bad disc or is my drive dying??

Probably scratched.
1-Try DVDFabD2.9.7.6 & FixVts to rebuilt DVD structure after the ripping (but data lost can't be recovered).
2-Try DVDshrink to see if it loads correctly and play it in PowerDVD or another software before to burn.

Ps: the job can be done very, very slowly!

hmm. that's well past the layer break. so i guess it is the scratch...

try clean the disc before you spend ages ripping it. with luck you might get past the bad bit (i find dirty fingerprints affect readibility more than most scratches, but sometimes a scratch is just too big for the error-correction).

Meh, I'm exchanging it, I just bought the damned boxed set!

I ripped the rest of the season without issues, so it must have just been a scratch :)
