Hi, everyone. This is my first post on Doom9 so please have mercy.

I am having a problem with some video files. When I burn them on a DVD-R (as a data disc to fit more files) sometimes the picture is scrambled. I've searched around for any solution but I haven't seen anyone else having this problem. Most video files do work perfectly, picture and audio, but just a few that do not. I took some pictures of what I mean:

I took those images with my digital camera standing in front of my tv so it actually looks worse than it is but still the video picture is still unwatachable. I have a Philips DP642. I updated the firmware to the latest version (1109) thinking maybe that would fix it but it didn't do anything. If anybody knows any solutions that would be great. Many thanks.

Hi!

1) What is the format of your original video?

2) What software and procedures did you use to create your original video?

3) Does your original video play properly and look better on your PC?

Indeed... we'll need more information about your "problem" file sources before passing judgement ;)

Cheers

Hi, setarip_old! Here are the answers to your questions:

1) What is the format of your original video?

The format of the original video is AVI

2) What software and procedures did you use to create your original video?

I didn't use anything. These are made by others and uploaded on torrent sites.

3) Does your original video play properly and look better on your PC?

Yes, the video runs perfectly on my computer.

I'm beginning to think the reason the image looks scrambled is because some of the video files are not converted into Xvid, which is unfortunate because my computer doesn't have the power for video convertions. My RAM is very low. Do you have any alternatives that might work?

Read the rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm), especially #6.
