I've just encoded my first dvd, with cce 6 pass. It didn't go completely smooth though :p
When I was finished encoding, DVD-RB started saving vobs. But then I got an error message "failed to save.." or something like that. It kept coming up, and finally the program closed down. I didn't know at first what had caused this, but then I saw that I had chosen the wrong output directory. I changed the output directory to a disc with more space, and moved the vobs already created.
I then tried to resume the task from where it let off last time. I changed to three-step-mode and clicked "prepare". After that I went right to "backup" but the program started encoding! I waited a good 12 hours (again!) until it was finished.
It's probably my own fault, but I can't see why I wasn't able to resume the task on the "saving vobs stage". I was using the 1.04 pro version, and I had "write to iso" enabled during the firt session. Also, I ripped the original dvd-files to my computer with dvd decrypter.
And another thing :p I've just managed to overwrite the files I sucsessfully created , by running a short test with a selection of files from the same DVD  How about creating seperate directories for each project in a previous version?
