You also might want to look at the Help file that comes with RB. <Menus and Settings> - <Hidden Settings>.

There are several TargetSectors values that can be adjusted in the REBUILDER.INI file.

and you can set them for each encoder separately.
CCETargetSectors=2265000
HCTargetSectors=2265000
This gives me a perfect 4.36 GB in 2 pass.

Just remember that occasionally an encoder can oversize slightly, and an increased value might create output that won't fit on a DVD-5. Also, the outer surface area of many discs is prone to error and can cause pixelation at the very end of playback. DVD-RB's default value of 2236400 takes that into consideration.

Many users, especialy with higher compression movies, like to squeeze every MB out of the disk. I know you have addressed this many times jdobbs, however my personal feeling is that most movies have ~120 mb of credits so that if I get a little pixelation on the name of the caterer or standby medic that's OK. What would be nice is that if under the DVD5 option you gave a choice of 4.35gb ( same as Shrink output). Personally I've never had any pixelation @ 4.36gb and the 4.35 figure would still allow for slight encoder oversizing.
You've always said that the quality difference, if any, is minimal, but it is a large psychological factor.

@jptheripper
I always use RB in "movie only" mode, and I haven't seen the option to slideshow credits, only "slideshow extras" in movie, menu mode. Is there one for movie only that I'm missing ?
Edit: Ok, I see it now under the segment viewer ( would have helped if I read the the help file first). Good tip as it
never would have occurred to me to use it for the credits !
