View Full Version : AutoGK Can't parse IFO

Hi there.
I used AutoGK under Windows 98 SE earlier, and I had no problems with it. However, now I have switched PC to a much better one. This one has Windows XP Professional SP2.

My problem is that I want to rip a DVD (several), but when I try to choose input, the application says that I Can't parse IFO (check screenshot 1). I tried to reinstall AutoGK onto another Harddisk, but still no luck for me.

I have tried 3 different DVDs now. From two different zones/regions (USA/Europe standards). I is possible to select the other IFO files, but then it only says that the file is about 30 minutes, and without text and different audio, so most likely just one chapter on the DVD (video, nothing else).

What should I do do be able to use the main IFO in AutoGK?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Seems the FAQ is confused or confusing. Since rev 2.15 (no more dvd input) I use the first Vob as input and AGK will take the following as well as documented in the FAQ
"6.12 How can I add more than one file to encode in File mode?
- just put them in one directory and name them *_1.*; *_2.* etc. They will be picked up automatically. This only works for mpeg1, mpeg2 and vob files but not for AVI files."
But no subs :(

Never used the IFO input, will try to see if reproductible.

Thank you for your kind words and reply mister.

However, I really need to extract all the video on the DVD, along with one of the audio languages, as well as one of the subtitle tracks, so that I end up with an avi with all the video, one subtitle track, and one audio track from the DVD.

What would be the easiest to do then?

Thanks again.

Find a rev that behaves correctly with IFO Input, try searching google; or use a rev before the DVD-input was changed that would be before rev 2.15 .

Here is a link to a thread with a link to the 2.12 beta:http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=814508#post814508

It is a Beta so you will probably need an older stable rev to upgrade it :o

If no luck come back and I will see, later on, what I can upload from home.

Thanks.

But is there another program that is easier to use when I need subtitles and audio? I can rip the DVD using DVDdecrypter.

Thanks.

... I can rip the DVD using DVDdecrypter.
Errrrrrrrk, my bad.

I ALWAYS use Dvd Decrypter in IFO mode for AGK Input, not direct from the DVD or ripped direct on HD or via DVDD file mode; so maybe this is why I don't have that problem :)

For the record,

Using Dvd Decrypter in IFO mode and feeding the resulting VTS.IFO in AGK 2.27 gives access to all the subtitles available :)

Just made a test for that purpose.

What does'nt work?
-You can't decrypt with DVDD in IFO Mode?
-You can't have access to the subtitles?
-If so for that movie? or for different movies?

Sorry but no informations, no clues...

Easier way? try other all in one programs like Fair use, Staxrip, Mkvmagic :search:

Or :search: for more specific questions like:

There is even a Firefox search engine for doom9 now available: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=110190

@wacco

Hi!

Instead of the "VIDEO_TS.IFO", did you try selecting the main movie-related .IFO, "VTS_02_0.IFO"?

When I select the VIDEO_TS.IFO, I get the same error as in the screenshot. When I select 02, I get about 30 min video, no subtitles/abillity to choose audio track.

It sounds like your rip of the original DVD(s) may be flawed.

What is/are the Title/s and Region/s of your original, commercial DVD?

I tried a new DVD drive now. The rip was good this time. Problem solved. Thanks.

(Verbose) Glad to hear that re-ripping solved your dilemma!
